Working in Komatsu IT

We hire experienced people deliberately and pay them properly. Most of our team has been here three-plus years. We invest in training and professional development — a published per-person budget for certifications, conferences, and external courses each year.

We work hybrid as standard (two to three days in office). Field roles travel to Komatsu sites across Australia, including remote mining operations. Some roles require occasional after-hours work on production-impacting incidents; we compensate for it.

The Komatsu Group is a global engineering company with operations in more than 140 countries. Long-term career paths are real — the Australian IT function has been the launchpad for several global roles over the last decade.

Senior Systems Engineer — Microsoft 365 & Azure

Lidcombe NSW · Hybrid · Full-time · permanent

Own the design, build, and ongoing management of Komatsu Australia's Microsoft 365 and Azure landscape. You'll work closely with the security team on identity hardening and conditional access policy, and with the infrastructure team on hybrid connectivity.

Must have: Seven-plus years operating Microsoft 365 and Azure at scale. Strong Entra ID, Intune, and Conditional Access. PowerShell. Demonstrable ownership of complex enterprise environments.

Nice to have: MS-100/MS-700, AZ-104, AZ-305. Manufacturing or industrial sector background.

Service Desk Analyst

Lidcombe NSW · Full-time · permanent

Tier 1 and 2 support for Komatsu Australia employees. Phone, email, and portal queue. Strong focus on first-call resolution and customer experience.

Must have: Three-plus years on an enterprise service desk. ITIL Foundation. Comfortable troubleshooting Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, basic network issues, and mobile device management.

Nice to have: ITIL Practitioner. Bilingual (English + Japanese a plus).

Network Engineer — Field Services

Perth WA · Full-time · permanent

Network design, deployment, and support for Komatsu's WA mining customer sites and our own remote operations. Includes occasional site visits to remote operations.

Must have: Five-plus years network engineering. Strong on Cisco Meraki, FortiGate, or comparable enterprise stack. Experience with SD-WAN.

Nice to have: CCNP or similar. Background working in or with mining operations.
